AutovaxID Instrument

The AutovaxID-C - A breakthrough technology in the production of biologics for the Biotechnology industry

The AutovaxID-C is a self-contained automated cell growth instrument. While having a small footprint, the AutovaxID-C functionally replaces conventional cell growth chambers that would take up over ten times the space.

The AutovaxID-C is ideal for laboratories that need to produce gram quantities of cell products such as monoclonal antibodies. A lab developing and testing many different antibodies could operate dozens of AutovaxIDs simultaneously, each growing a different cell line, in a modest sized room and monitored by a small staff. This saves time and keeps costs at a minimum.

The AutovaxID-C is expected to be a significant enabling technology for the emerging field of personalized medicine. As patient-specific cell based products become more widely used the need to grow cells under strictly controlled GMP conditions will require the construction of costly facilities containing isolation suites and clean rooms. The AutovaxID-C offers a technology that avoids such cumbersome solutions and will allow companies to process patient specific materials in far less costly facilities while still maintaining sterility and segregation of one patient’s cells from another.

Note: The AutovaxID is not currently considered a "medical device" by FDA. Use of the AutovaxID in the production of a Biologic Product for any use in humans should be communicated to Regulatory Agencies prior to any human exposure to the biologic. Biovest may in the future add features to the AutovaxID to enable production of a Biologic Product as a direct output. Such a use would require Biovest to consult with FDA and to obtain a premarket notification [510(k)] or premarket approval.
